GENERAL ACTIVITIES

The center by virtue of its location and activities is a partner with many other NGOs and CBOs.

We are also closely working with the government and other religious leaders in areas such as security maintenance, reconciliation of warring communities and in presenting views reflective of the local situation to various forums such as education, poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS e.t.c.

The center occasionally gets involved in relief work particularly during emergencies when urgent interventions are required.

Programs executed in the past include feeding centers, dry ration distribution, drilling of shallow wells e.t.c.

ADDITIONAL MADRASA

A part from the center’s madrasa, the Association has played an active role in promoting madrasa education particularly among marginal communities mainly in the Tana River District.

From an initial 15 madrasas, only 5 are currently receiving token support. This has been occasioned by the dwindling resources. It is the associations intention to revive this program once the situation improves.
