YOUNG MUSLIM HIGH SCHOOL

The Association always wanted to take the center to greater heights of development, particularly in the educational front. The Association has nurtured for many years the ambition of establishing its own high school.

Efforts to get donors for this project started more than a decade ago and finally it was the Islamic Development Bank of Jeddah – Saudi Arabia that accepted to fund the project.

However its implementation delayed and only commenced in July 2001. This project is expected to narrow the education gap and contribute towards providing quality education not only to the orphans but also to the general community.

The construction work was completed in 2002 and started the first intake in 2003.The school offered the first KCSE exam class in 2006 and produced the best result ever produced by a school in NEP. The performance of the following year was even beter since the school was ranked as the 2nd best District School nationally.

While there was a drop in 2008 exams, the school remains the leading school in the province and has triggered education competition in the whole province.

The single stream day school has an enrolment of 208 students. One of the visions of the Association is to make it double stream and put in place boarding facilities.
