YMA Chldrens Home

The Young Muslim Children’s Home (YMCH – formerly GMCH) is an orphanage that was started in 1969 as a couple of bare brick rooms in the middle of a field of undeveloped land.

Since that time, the functionality of the orphanage and its centrality to the area have kept on increasing with further development. From a large donated borehole that serves more than just the orphanage, to multiple halls, kitchens and classrooms, that have even seen use as emergency shelters, the orphanage has seen over 2,000 students graduate from its halls and find a dignified place in society.

The YMA are always looking for opportunities to increase the capacity of the institute and provide better services. This can only happen when the amount of sponsorships we receive is increased and specific donations are given to expand and improve the facilities.

Recently, we have built the facilities and furnishings required to house a library – for further information please see:
New Library at YMCH

We have also recently constructed a 100,000 litre water tank with the support of the Northern Water Service Board to ease the shortage of water at the home – for further information please see: New Water Tank at YMCH

We hope you will become a part of the YMCH endeavour, support the YMCH and help us provide a better home for many more orphans.

Any contribution to the institute is welcome.

If you would like to sponsor a specific section, please contact us directly and we will be able to provide you with full details on the matter.

This project cannot accept Zakat as it is a Waqf (Endowment) project. Non-waajib donations only please.
